Andrew Kibe calls out people blaming alcohol for their problems
By William Muthama, January 21, 2026Media personality Andrew Kibe has criticised people who blame alcohol for their mistakes, describing them as hypocrites who refuse to take responsibility for their actions.
Speaking on Instagram on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Kibe argued that drinking itself is not the problem; it is how people handle themselves under the influence that matters. According to him, many individuals use alcohol as an excuse for a lack of self-control.
“You don’t have self-control. You have no self-control. You don’t know what to do when you get drunk. Maybe you shit in your pants. So you are a nuisance,” Kibe said, highlighting how people often avoid taking responsibility for their actions.
Personal responsibility
Kibe emphasised that alcohol merely amplifies existing behaviour; it does not create irresponsibility.
He noted that individuals who claim alcohol is the source of their problems are evading the difficult work of managing their own impulses and emotions. “Alcohol is not a problem,” he stressed. “The problem is your inability to handle yourself.”

He further explained that even ordinary situations, such as overeating or becoming paranoid after drinking, are the result of personal choices, not the substances themselves. For instance, he said that when people cannot control what they consume or how they act afterwards, they end up in situations they later regret.
Calling out hypocrisy
The media personality also addressed societal double standards, noting that some people project moral superiority while privately struggling with personal issues.
“Fake Christians and fake Muslims… nobody knows your secret life,” he said, pointing out that many are quick to judge others publicly while failing to manage their own behaviour.
Kibe highlighted that these issues are deeply personal and that blaming alcohol or other external factors prevents individuals from understanding the real cause of their troubles.
He said people should recognise that actions have consequences and that failure to manage oneself is the true problem, not drinking.
Kibe stressed that people need to be honest with themselves about their behavior under the influence.
He argued that many mistakes attributed to alcohol are simply the result of poor decision-making, lack of self-control, and avoidance of accountability.
Kibe’s sentiments come in the wake of a recent case involving Marion Naipei, whose disturbing video went viral.
