Allans Ademba explains the future of ‘Niko Kadi’ after voter registration
By Charles Ouma, March 23, 2026Journalist Allas Ademba, who is behind the Niko Kadi initiative sweeping across the country with Kenyans turning up to register as voters in their thousands, has outlined the future of the initiative.
In a statement on X on Monday, March 23, 2026, Ademba expressed his concerns that politicians and influencers are desperately attempting to hijack the citizen-led initiative that has rattled the political elite.
The journalist explained that the present focus is to get as many Kenyans as possible to register as voters and outlined the next step once this is accomplished.
“Politicians and influential figures are trying to hijack #TukoKadi. The initiative is simply here to rally people to register to vote,” Ademba stated on X on Monday, March 23, 2026.
The future of the movement
He explained that once this is accomplished, the movement will shift its attention to citizen-led civic and political education, marking another chapter.

He lamented that politicians keen on hijacking Niko Kadi have plans of coming in with lorries and banners during tomorrow’s highly anticipated registration drive.
“After registration, the movement will focus on Citizens-led civic and political education. They are planning to come with lorries, banners and many sponsored activities kesho.
He questioned the intentions of politicians and distanced the initiative from any political activity at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Offices, where registration is ongoing.
“As the #TukoKadi lead, please know that if these activities happen, know that they are sponsored. Why do politicians have to ruin everything?” Ademba stated.
Organisers approached with mouth-watering deals
Niko Kadi/Tuko Kadi wave has attracted interest from the political elite who have since reached out to organisers with lucrative offers, hoping to hijack it and use the movement for their agenda.

“I have received a phone call while in your waiting lobby… The call was, ‘Ademba, we are going to give you a lorry; we have branded them with #TukoKadi.’ Those were the calls. Sad to say, they even said they have branded me with my face, my friend; don’t try that. They have approached us. I have been receiving phone calls. If a lorry appears on Tuesday at our rallies in Kibra, Lang’ata, the five Embakasi constituencies, or at Anniversary Towers, we are going to chase those lorries away,” Ademba confirmed in an interview on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
