Allans Ademba claims he has been approached with lucrative deal over ‘Niko Kadi’ initiative
Journalist Allans Ademba says he has been approached with lucrative deals as the Niko Kadi initiative takes the country by storm.
The youthful activist who is behind the initiative confirmed that political players keen on hijacking the initiative have been approaching him, with the latest call coming in on Sunday, March 22 night, just before he was interviewed by a local TV station.

“I have received a phone call while in your waiting lobby… The call was, ‘Ademba, we are going to give you a lorry; we have branded them with #TukoKadi.’ Those were the calls. Sad to say, they even said they have branded me with my face, my friend; don’t try that,” Ademba stated.
What the caller promised
He said that the caller promised to provide a branded lorry bearing slogans and with his face, in addition to financing his campaigns.
Ademba made it clear that should any branded lorry appear at their events, it will be chased away, insisting that the political elite will not be allowed to hijack the youth-led initiative.
“They have approached us. I have been receiving phone calls. If a lorry appears on Tuesday at our rallies in Kibra, Lang’ata, the five Embakasi constituencies, or at Anniversary Towers, we are going to chase those lorries away,” he said.

The initiative that started on social media has gained traction with politicians attempting to hop onto it as Kenyans continue to stream into Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices to register as voters.
Ruto, Kalonzo and Gachagua embrace slogan
A number of politicians, including President William Ruto, Rigathi Gachagua and Kalonzo Musyoka, attempted to ride on the wave, with organisers of Tuko Kadi swiftly rebuking them.
Eric Omondi, who is a leading voice in the youth-led initiative, set the record straight, saying:
“Hello guys, Eric Omondi hapa. To the Kenyan political class, musitujaribu. We have been very silent mukifanya mambo yenu, we have been extremely quiet mukipiga siasa zenu, musitujaribu,” Omondi said.
“Tuko Kadi is a movement by young people and Gen Z to kuhamasisha vijana na Gen Z wachukuwe kura. Musitujaribu; do not take our silence for weakness.”
This week, those behind the initiative have a series of events planned with a host of celebrities joining.
