Samuel Muchoki, a Mugithi artiste popularly known as Samidoh, has told the court that he suspects his nephew, the late Jeff Mwathi, was pushed from DJ Fatxo’s house, ruling out suicide allegations.

Appearing before Milimani Magistrate Rose Ndumbi, Samidoh told the court that on February 23, 2023, he visited DJ Fatxo’s house, and he was not convinced the deceased could fit in the space of the window he is said to have jumped from.

Tendering his testimony on Monday, August 11, 2025, he said that the window had grills, part of which looked a bit bigger than the other, but also ruled out the possibility of a person going through without being pushed.

“Part of the window grill was bigger, and I suspected Jeff might have been pushed from there,” Samidoh told the court.

He told the court that at the time he visited the house, the body of the deceased had been moved, but the police had not secured the place as a scene of crime, as it is supposed to be.

Crime scene tampered with

Samidoh informed the court that by the time he visited, the crime scene had already been tampered with.

He pointed out that the bed in the said bedroom was at the center contrary to what DJ Fatxo had said that it was near the wall, but that particular time he found it at the center.

He strongly ruled out the possibility of the deceased having used the bed as a stepping place to jump through the window.

Notably, the mugithi singer told the court that since he had known Mwathi since he was 2 years old, he had not exhibited any suicidal thoughts at any given time.

Samidoh revealed that he was not aware of any serious rift between Jeff and his parents, who are said to have separated.

The celebrated mugithi singer also ruled out any possibility of fixing his fellow mugithi singer to ruin his career, stating that the matter in court was too sensitive for someone to use it to destroy another person’s career.

Additionally, he told the court that DJ Fatxo is his mentee, and he would not take such a direction to destroy someone he helped grow.

“I supported DJ Fatxo and I have no wish to destroy him, I mentored him in the industry, I cannot fix someone in such a sensitive matter,” Samidoh told the court.
