Police nab 4 over 2.8K rolls of bhang seized in Juja raid
By Cy Muganda, September 6, 2025Police officers in Kiambu County have nabbed four individuals and seized over 2,800 rolls of cannabis, along with other illegal substances, during a raid in Juja Sub-County.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Saturday, September 6, 2025, the National Police Service (NPS) detailed the successful operation conducted by officers from Kiambu County Headquarters in the Matangi area following a tip-off from members of the public.
“Police officers from Kiambu County Headquarters, led by the County Police Commander (CPC), Mrs. Doris Mugambi, CP, conducted a successful raid in the Matangi area of Juja Sub-County on Friday, 5th September 2025, following a tip-off from members of the public,” the statement read.
Haul recovered
The officers revealed that during the September 5 operation, they seized a significant haul of illegal substances and arrested four individuals described as notorious drug traffickers.
“During the operation, four notorious drug traffickers were arrested. The officers seized 2,085 rolls of cannabis, 8 kilograms of unprocessed cannabis, 30 litres of chang’aa, 20 litres of muratina, and Ksh9,580 in cash suspected to be proceeds from the illegal trade,” NPS stated.

According to the police, the four individuals are currently being held in police custody pending presentation in court.
“The suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday, 8th September 2025,” police said.

Similar crackdown
This statement follows a previous operation in which police recovered 20 kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa, valued at approximately Ksh200,000, during a patrol in the Sabwani area.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Saturday, September 6, 2025, the National Police Service (NPS) detailed how officers from Endebess Police Station encountered two individuals on a blue motorcycle without visible registration plates.
“Police officers from Endebess Police Station in Trans Nzoia County, while on patrol in the Sabwani area, encountered a suspicious blue motorcycle without a visible registration number, carrying two pillion passengers,” the statement read.
The officers revealed that the individuals, upon spotting the police vehicle, fled towards the Soymining area and eventually abandoned their motorcycle during the pursuit.
“Upon noticing the police vehicle, the suspects fled towards the Soymining area and eventually abandoned the motorcycle. During the pursuit, one of the pillion passengers dropped a white 90kg sack,” NPS stated.
