Content creator Kastew heartbroken after videographer behind his viral videos dies
By Steve Ireri, July 22, 2026Popular Kikuyu cross-dressing content creator Kastew Kanyi has mourned the death of Peter Njuguna, a videographer who played a role in his content journey and helped shoot some of the videos that went viral online.
In an emotional Facebook tribute on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Kastew recalled how they worked together to create videos at a time when the late videographer was using his phone to film his content.
According to Kastew, Peter was instrumental in capturing some of the moments that eventually gained traction online, with the content creator recalling a time when the two were working together and his videos were going viral.
“Gone too soon. On this day you shot me videos and went viral,” Kastew wrote.
Kastew revealed that he had initially hired Peter to shoot his videos using his phone, while encouraging him to keep pursuing his own dreams and promising that he would one day acquire better equipment.
“As I was hiring you to shoot me videos with your phone, telling me soon you would get yours, a good one,” he recalled.

However, the content creator is now mourning Peter following his death on July 19, 2026, a loss he says he will never forget.
“But 19/07/2026, I’ll never forget. Peter, umeenda mapema. All your dreams, bro,” Kastew wrote in an emotional tribute.
The death of the videographer appears to have deeply affected Kastew, who reflected on the dreams Peter had while working alongside him and other content creators.
He also shared two photographs of himself with the late Peter as he explained the journey they had shared and the role he played in his content creation career.
“Sorry for my two pictures, but I was explaining my journey with the late Peter Njuguna,” he added.
Kastew also used the post to appeal for financial support for Peter’s family following his death.
He shared a phone number, belonging to Annita Wangui, Peter’s sister, for those willing to contribute towards the family’s needs during the difficult period.
“For any support will appreciate,” Kastew wrote while encouraging her followers and well-wishers to support Peter’s family.
The content creator concluded her tribute by remembering Peter as someone who was part of her journey and whose death had come before he could fulfil the dreams they had discussed.
