Zuchu reveals she has finally received her CHAN performance dues
By Steve Ireri, September 22, 2025Tanzanian singer Zuchu has confirmed that she has finally received her outstanding balance from her performance at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 finale in Nairobi.
The artiste, born Zuhura Othman, confirmed the payment through her Instagram Stories on Monday, September 22, 2025, where she thanked her supporters for ensuring that her concerns reached the relevant agency.
She said she had now received her balance and expressed gratitude to those who stood by her during the dispute, noting that it was time to move on.
“I want to thank my good people who made sure our message got across to the agency involved with CHAN. I have received my balance. Thank you, we move on now,” she wrote.

Her announcement brings an end to weeks of uncertainty and frustration after she publicly raised alarm over unpaid fees from the continental football showpiece.
The performance took place on August 30, 2025, but according to Zuchu, the balance agreed upon had not been settled despite repeated follow-ups.
In a statement posted on September 18, 2025, the singer expressed disappointment at the delay, noting that her management had been in constant communication with LEAP Creative Agency, the company contracted to handle the event, but without any breakthrough.
She further revealed that proof of payment documents provided by the agency appeared unverifiable and suspicious.
“I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concern and frustration regarding the outstanding payment for my recent performance in Nairobi on August 30th 2025. As per our agreement with your agents at LEAP Creative Agency, the full balance for my services was due upon completion of the event, yet despite my and my team’s continuous patience and understanding, I have yet to receive the full payment,” she had said at the time.

Zuchu explained that she had even sacrificed other previously booked shows to prioritise the CHAN finale, making the matter particularly painful.
She added that despite directly engaging LEAP Creative Agency CEO Roshan Soomarshun, the promises made to her team had not been honoured, forcing her to consider further action.
“My management team has been in constant communication with various members of the LEAP agency, including its CEO, Mr. Roshan Soomarshun, to no avail. Supposed POPs were sent, which then turned out unverifiable, suspicious and clearly not sent or paid out. I have upheld my end of the agreement by delivering a performance that I dedicated myself fully to ensuring it met the standards,” she added.
