Vera Sidika responds after being accused of copying Instagram content
By Paulette Mboga, October 1, 2025Socialite Vera Sidika has spoken out after being accused of copying content from another woman on Instagram.
The claims came after she posted a reel while celebrating her birthday on a cruise ship. A random woman suggested that Vera had copied her idea and should have tagged her.
Vera dismissed the accusations, saying that the content was not copied from the woman but was part of a general trend she had seen online. She explained that she first saw the concept on another page, and not from the person who was accusing her.
“This is a trend. Saw it from this page, by the way. So when I see a black girl calling me out, claiming I’m copying but doesn’t call this video, it makes me realise that black girls really hate each other,” Vera wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
“White girls can get away with it”
Vera went further to highlight what she sees as double standards. She questioned why white girls are never called out for similar actions, yet black women are quick to attack one another. “So white girls can get away with it, huh!?” she asked, suggesting that there is a lack of support among black women.
She also questioned the logic behind the demand that she should have tagged the woman. Vera asked why she would be expected to tag someone who had not contributed to her work or experiences.

“She saying ati I should have tagged her. For what? Did she pay for my cruise…?” Vera stated, making it clear that she owed the woman no credit.
The mother of two pointed out that such criticism only proves her point that black women often turn against one another instead of showing solidarity. To her, the issue was not about content but about how women treat each other.
By responding to the claims directly, Vera made her position known that she does not believe she copied anyone’s content and feels unfairly targeted because of competition among women.
While enjoying her birthday celebration on the cruise, she stressed that no one had funded her experience and that her life choices are not linked to the woman accusing her.
