Popular YouTuber and entrepreneur Robert Ndegwa Kamau, popularly known as Thee Pluto, has candidly shared reasons behind his silence online and why he stepped back.

In an interview with YouTuber Oga Obinna on Monday, November 17, 2025, Pluto revealed that his silence itself has been a strategy.

He revealed that he had resolved to farming, describing that his current farming duties require a bit of absence online.

“The silence itself is a strategy. Kuna kazi haitaki mbogi, unaipiga tu kivyako. Vitu kama farming haitaki watu online... I am a farmer; I do livestock farming,” Pluto said.

Farming venture

Pluto went on to confirm that he is doing livestock farming while having his main farm in Githunguri.

Kuna wanyama wa maziwa na wa nyama; one farm is in Githunguri, the main one, and then I am doing doppa farming,” he added.

On the other hand, Pluto, while advising youths to major in farming, revealed how many young people associate farming with older people.

“What I can say is that the soil has money; it’s just that young people view it as a game of the old people,” Pluto noted.

He went on to add how farming has been a boost to his finances while detailing the benefits of agriculture.

“When people see you farming, they think hii kitu haina pesa mostly; people think it is something that needs to be done with our parents, but the truth is agriculture is also the backbone of this country. Agriculture is good; it has money. Siwezi complain,” Pluto said.

His remarks on agriculture come months after he shared how his forays into various businesses, including short‑term rentals, led to a total loss of Ksh6 million.

Apart from the rental business, the content creator also revealed that he was forced to shut down his other businesses.

“I have lost a lot of money setting up those short-term rental businesses. It cost me like Ksh6 million. I lost all of it, one in Witeithie, I used like Ksh 1.8 million,” he shared.

“There was a post I made about the businesses I failed. In Juja, I had a movie shop, a fast food court, bicycles for hire shop. Witeithie, I had a hotel. I also had 3 short-term rentals in Mombasa Sultan Palace, Kikambala, and Mtwapa, bringing like Ksh150k per month each, they all collapsed.”
