Sammy Kioko forced to cut sister’s treatment short in India due to financial constraints
By Paulette Mboga, November 20, 2025Content creator Sammy Kioko has announced that he is returning to Nairobi with his sister after being forced to end her treatment in India earlier than planned due to financial challenges.
Speaking on Instagram on Thursday, November 20, 2025, he said they will arrive back in the country on Friday after realising they could not manage to stay longer for her full treatment.
Kioko explained that their wish had been to remain in India until his sister received the complete medical care she needed, but the cost became too high for them to sustain.
“We are leaving India, back to Nairobi, where we will arrive on Friday. Our greatest wish is tungekaa sana and for her to receive her full treatment, but unfortunately, due to some financial constraints, we could not manage,” he said.
He added that despite the setback, he believes things will work out. “But God willing, kila kitu itakua sawa. Atarudi tu amalizie.”
He thanked family, friends and everyone who contributed to helping them travel and seek treatment abroad. “Thank you so much to my family, my friends and you guys for contributing, and to everyone who pulled their resources just for us to manage. Asanteni sana,” he said.
Moment of reflection
Kioko also opened up about the emotional pressure he has been facing throughout the journey. He said the situation had pushed him to reflect deeply on his role and the weight of the responsibility he carries.
“After a deep reflection, nikajiuliza maswali mengi nikasema maybe I just step aside from all this. Mimi pia ni binadamu, and it is draining me, every day, every time. Maybe the problem is Sammy Kioko; I don’t know,” he shared.
He revealed that he has now decided to step aside and allow his sister to be assisted through other channels when they return home. According to him, his sister will rest for a few days before the family takes her to the county offices in hopes of getting further help.
“I have decided to step aside, and I have encouraged my sister. So when we get back, nitapatia siku kama…apumzike, then on Tuesday, we will have familia wampeleke kwa county; in their offices, maybe atasaidika,” he said.
