Ruth K addresses claims she ditched teaching career for marriage, content creation

Mulamwah’s baby mama, Ruth Njoki Karegi, alias Ruth K, has finally spoken out to dispel rumours that she abandoned her teaching career to prioritise marriage and social media fame.

Speaking candidly in a video shared on her YouTube channel on Saturday, August 9, 2025, the mother of one opened up about how she has carefully balanced her teaching profession alongside content creation, despite widespread speculation suggesting otherwise.

In the video, Ruth K began by affirming her credentials, stating that she studied teaching for four years and remains deeply committed to the profession.

“Next question. About teaching, yes, I am a teacher, and I studied teaching for four years. Even though some people online mock my English, sometimes the English I use is meant only for fans. When you find me with a whiteboard and marker pen, know that I am a serious teacher,” she emphasised.

Ruth K went on to clarify that although she is not teaching full-time, she still conducts lessons regularly.

“I currently have six lessons a week, which makes it easier for me to balance teaching and content creation,” she explained.

She revealed that had she been teaching three lessons a day, it would have been difficult to manage her content creation work, but the limited number of lessons allows her to pursue both passions simultaneously without compromising either.

Many followers had been curious about which school she teaches at, but for privacy reasons, she declined to disclose the institution’s name.

“So, yes, I still teach. But I can say my lessons are few. Many people have also asked me which school I teach at. For privacy reasons, I cannot say the name of the school, but the students I teach know, and I know that right now they are saying, ‘Ruth K is my teacher.’ If I have ever taught you, comment and tell me how I teach. By the way, I do not joke when it comes to teaching,” she added.

She then took the audience through her personal journey after graduation, recounting how she initially joined the workforce as a full-time teacher.

She recalled living in the teachers’ quarters of the school where she had secured a job and revealed that she taught for a full year before quitting following her pregnancy.

“After graduation, I worked full-time as a teacher for about one year. During that time, I lived in teachers’ quarters near the school where I taught, fully dedicated to the job.”

Ruth K revealed that it was only after this period that she decided to focus on content creation, a decision that did not sit well with her parents.

“There was a time I stopped teaching because I wanted to focus on content creation, and my parents were very upset. They kept asking me when I would return to teaching. They had invested four years in my education and wanted me to use it, so there was pressure from them.”

Despite the challenges, Ruth K stressed that she does not take either career lightly.

She made it clear that her decision to juggle both teaching and content creation comes from a place of genuine love for both fields.

“I love teaching and content creation equally, and because I only do what I love, that is why I continue to do both,” she added.
