One week after Ringtone Apoko was dragged online for his ‘extreme’ wife-hunt tactics, the controversial Gospel singer says he does not care for online trolls.
Last week, the Tenda Wema hit-maker was photographed by the side of a Nairobi road with a placard announcing that he is looking for a godly spouse.
Speaking exclusively to K24’s Alfajiri team Monday, the flashy singer doubled down on his decision to go public about his desire to get hitched.
He explained that he had previously focused on God’s work, and the time had come for him to tie the knot.
Ringtone: Kenyan ladies ignore me
In a previous Up Close interview with Betty Kyallo, Ringtone, who boasts of a rags-to-riches story, lamented that Kenyan women do not take him seriously.
“Now that Kenyan ladies are ignoring me we are going to go out to the road. There’s something I have been doing secretly. I’m surprised no one has noticed yet,” he said
Aside from the riches he boasts about, what else does Ringtone have to offer?
“I am very handsome, romantic, caring, God fearing, I’m a very good person,” he added
This latest move comes after he made a public move on Diamond Platnumz former beau, Zari Hassan – a declaration of love that saw him offer her a pricey Rage Rover vehicle. She turned it, and him down.
In the past, Ringtone declared his love for Ray C after, as part of her drug recovery journey, she announced that she turned to Christ.
“Attention: I hear Ray C is born again, and that she is searching for a husband. God is speaking to me. Kindly if you have her number send it to me and God will greatly bless you,” Ringtone posted online.
Both Christina Shusho and Bahati have offered their help, but he is having none of it.
Ringtone claps back at trolls
His stunts have left many hardcore gospel fans sour, with some accusing him of pulling cheap publicity stunts for attention – actions they think are unbecoming of a gospel singer.
Ringtone’s response to the critics? Unfollow me.
“ I’m a product of persistence. Everything people said I can’t get, I’ve always gotten! I never bother about people’s comments and when I do to those who comment negatively, I only say; I’m praying to GOD to give you the grace to unfollow me,” he says.
Ringtone made the comments as he discussed cyberbullying on K24’s Alfajiri. The show airs every weekday from 6am -9am.
