Nairobi Women representative Esther Passaris, who was speaking at an event in Chungwa House, slammed Eric Omondi for what she terms as disrespecting ODM Party leader Raila Odinga. Passaris opines that the former premier has made a lot of sacrifices to make the nation a better place and does not deserve any degree of rebuke.
The lawmaker, who was visibly irked by Eric’s Fagia wote campaign, challenged the self-christened President of comedy to showcase whatever he has done for the nation other than making Kenyans laugh.
“The other day I saw some little comedian here talking about Fagia Wote. What has he ever done other than to make us laugh? At the end of the day we have to respect our elders and we have to respect what they have done.
“The amount of time that Baba has spent in and out of jail, teargassed, running, falling just for this country. The sacrifices he has made to not even be there for his own family,” she said.
In his response, Eric Omondi chastised the legislator for belittling him and promised to ensure she is ousted from her seat come 2022. In a past interview, the former Churchill Show comedian promised to lead the youthfolk in sweeping out elderly politicians from elective posts and replacing them with youths.
“Did she just call the PRESIDENT “LITTLE COMEDIAN? Esther Passaris, the BROOM is coming for you, I will start with you. FAGIA WOTE,” he posted.
The Fagia Wote slogan emanates from a rallying call by ODM presidential aspirant Jimmy Wanjigi, to kick out seasoned politicians from the country’s political landscape. Wanjigi, who was earlier endorsed by the comedian, argues that Raila Odinga has outlived his usefulness and should now pave way for newbies.
