Salvation Healing Ministries founder, Pastor Victor Kanyari, has reacted emotionally after his employees surprised him with bundles of cash in a bid to console him following the demise of his ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo.

In a video shared on TikTok on Sunday, November 23, 2025, the self-proclaimed prophet is seen becoming emotional as he unsealed a grey envelope that the workers had given him, stacked with crisp 1,000-shilling notes.

He then asked everyone who was at his homestead at the time to clap for the workers, emphasising that they had gifted him voluntarily and that he had not requested them to do so.

“Condolences from your workers. And from my friends also, please clap for them. Gosh, I can’t believe you are gifting me money yet I have not even asked you for it even,” he said.

The surprise came just three days after the mother of his two children, Sky and Dany, was laid to rest in an emotional burial at her Mugumo Estate home on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Kanyari was among the key people who attended the funeral, following a heated ten days of fundraising and planning to accord the late singer, renowned for hits such as Busy Busy and 11th Hour, a befitting send-off.

Betty passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, after a brief battle with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

She died at the Kenyatta National Hospital private wing, leaving her family, particularly her children, grieving and reflecting on the depth of her love and care as a mother.

The first burial planning meeting, which Prophet Kanyari also attended, was held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The burial committee included key artistes and ministers of the gospel, including gospel singer Ben Githae, Shiru wa GP, Loise Kim, Bishop Michael Wanderi, Elder David Kigomo, and Facebook influencer and singer Karangu Muraya, among others.

The meetings were very fruitful, despite the committee having set a Ksh5 million budget for the burial. Prominent figures, including former President Uhuru Kenyatta, donated substantial sums, offsetting the budget within just a few days.

The development comes just days after Kanyari released a new batch of screenshots showing past conversations with Betty in a bid to defend himself against claims that he was not present or financially supportive in his children’s lives.

The screenshots, which span from 2023 to early 2025, appeared to show multiple exchanges in which Betty updated him on school matters, thanked him for payments, and confirmed receipt of support for their children, Sky and Dany Victor.

Kanyari had been posting the messages one set at a time and intensified the posting on Friday, November 21, 2025, days after publicly insisting that he always provided for his children even after his separation from the late singer.

In the first set of messages dated March 3, 2024, Betty informed him that the Ksh50,000 he had sent for Sky’s acting school had been received.

She followed the confirmation with a note thanking him for being present in his daughter’s life and expressing optimism that Sky would one day surprise him for his efforts.

“Hi, rem. the 50k for sky acting school. Thanks received thanks for being there for your daughter, one day she will surprise you,” the first message from Betty read.
