Lydia Wanjiru: Why I will never confront a woman because of a man
By Paulette Mboga, August 26, 2025Media personality and influencer Lydia Wanjiru has opened up about a painful experience that has reshaped how she approaches relationships.
In a candid revelation, she shared how confronting another woman over a man she was dating not only backfired but also left her determined never to repeat the same mistake.
According to Lydia, the incident began when she discovered her partner was involved with another woman. Feeling betrayed, she decided to confront the lady directly, hoping for honesty or clarity. Instead, the conversation took a humiliating turn.
“And to think that I’ve gone to a woman as a woman and got insulted as a proper one. She laughed at me while asking, ‘Kwani, you don’t trust your man? When you ask him who I am, he won’t answer?” Lydia recalled.
Learning through heartbreak
What made the experience even more painful was her partner’s reaction when he discovered what had happened. Rather than offering reassurance or addressing the betrayal, he accused Lydia of lowering her standards.
“When he found out that I called the girl, he told me I stooped too low and I lack self-respect,” she revealed.

Almost a year later, Lydia learnt that her suspicions had been correct all along. Her partner had been involved with at least three other women during the course of their relationship. The repeated betrayals ultimately led to their breakup, but not without leaving behind valuable lessons for Lydia.
Today, she says she would never again confront a woman because of a man. Instead, her energy is now focused on valuing herself and refusing to compete for someone’s loyalty.
“Mimi Lydia Wanjiru, I will never confront a woman because of a man. In fact, we could easily end up being friends. Unless you start small disrespect directly towards me, Sasa,” she declared.
Lydia’s message reflects a growing sentiment among women who believe accountability should lie with the partner, not the other women involved. Her decision to place self-respect above confrontation highlights the importance of setting boundaries and refusing to entertain toxic cycles of blame.
By sharing her story publicly, Lydia has sparked reflection among her followers on the challenges of trust, betrayal, and dignity in modern relationships.
