Lydia Wanjiru reveals some people called to ask about Frank Doso’s burial

By , August 4, 2025

Social media influencer Lydia Wanjiru has responded to the wave of painful rumours and insensitive questions she has faced following the tragic incident involving her boyfriend, Frank Doso.

This comes just days after she issued an update that Doso had started recovering following his tragic fall from a fourth-floor balcony.

In an Instagram story on Monday, August 4, 2025, she revealed that, amid this difficult time, she received calls from two contacts asking about Frank’s burial.

Lydia said she did not respond to these calls, choosing instead to hang up, block the callers, and break down emotionally.

“Yes, two contacts called to ask when the burial is. I didn’t respond. I hung up, blocked and broke down,” she wrote.

Lydia also addressed the numerous false allegations circulating on social media that she was behind Doso’s fall.

She noted that some Facebook bloggers and a Kisumu influencer had posted claims accusing her of being a sugar mummy to Frank, while suggesting that her forgiveness was merely a facade to seek revenge

According to these allegations, she was purported to have pushed Frank, causing the fatal fall.

She firmly denied these accusations, stating that the claims were baseless and unfounded.

“Some Facebook bloggers and a Kisumu influencer posted about how I am Leone’s sugar mummy, and being a Kikuyu, I only forgave to get revenge, and I’m the one who pushed him. Oh, and the discussions on some of the WhatsApp groups that Leone,” she added.

Lydia revealed that she had access to Frank’s phone and used ChatGPT to interpret messages that contradicted the rumours.

She further confirmed that her legal team had intervened, dealing with the defamatory content posted by these bloggers and influencers.

“They didn’t know I had his phone, and ChatGPT came through with interpretations. Yooh, those were dealt with by my lawyer.”

Despite the legal action, Lydia expressed a desire to confront those spreading the falsehoods in person.

She warned that she would be asking tough questions when that day comes and insisted that they had better have credible answers, given how much they appeared to know.

“But best believe, since I know some of them, I have questions for the day we meet in person. And you all better have the answers since you seemed to know so much,” she added.

Lydia then questioned the priorities of those involved in spreading the rumours.

She asked why, if people were genuinely concerned about Frank’s well-being, they were not focusing their energy on ensuring he received the medical care he needed and praying for his recovery.

She emphasised that concern should come first, with the pursuit of justice and truth following after he had fully recovered.

“My question was, and still is, if you were really concerned about what had happened to him, wouldn’t your priority be making sure that he is getting the much-needed medical attention and praying for his recovery? Then, after he has recovered, you can now proceed to pursue what happened and find justice?”

Alcohol

Lydia then challenged the notion that accidents only happen to those who drink alcohol, pushing back against stereotypes and assumptions being made.

She also questioned the relevance of a couple’s argument about the accident, implying that the fall was not a simple consequence of domestic disputes.

“How was public slander and hate helping the situation? Do accidents happen to only those who drink alcohol? What does a couple’s argument have to do with someone falling?”
