Githaiga, in the video, called out the William Ruto-led government, wondering why a Kenyan can be arrested for exposing the pain of fellow citizens working in hostile conditions abroad.

“Guys, allow me to bring something to your attention, Kiongozi lives in Gulf and supports sisi kwa sisi movement,” Githaiga has posted on TikTok.

He detailed how Kiongozi, a vocal supporter of the sis kwa sisi movement, once travelled from the Gulf to support Kaluma Boy before returning to Saudi Arabia.

His troubles allegedly began after a viral walk with Kiambu Senator Karung’o Wa Thangwa through struggling migrant zones.

The disturbing arrest and family tragedy revealed have left many Kenyans shaken after it emerged that Kiongozi was picked up following pressure linked to a powerful individual with business roots in Kenya.

“He showed Karung’o how Kenyans are suffering, and that is when the trouble started,” Githaiga has told his followers.

Even more painful, Githaiga revealed that Kiongozi’s wife, known as Heart Grabber, died while he remained unaware, leaving their young daughter without both parents in sight.

Karung’o Wa Thang’wa’s message

All the same, Githaiga’s message comes hours after Karung’o Wa Thangwa confirmed on social media that Kiongozi was detained days after their Riyadh tour exposed the harsh reality on the ground.

“A Kenyan in Saudi Arabia known as Kiongozi has been arrested days after receiving threats for exposing what Kenyans are going through,” Karung’o Wa Thangwa has said.

Rights groups have renewed criticism of government inaction, urging faster diplomatic intervention and protection of citizens speaking out against abuse.

“This is exactly what I have been saying, our people deserve dignity and urgent action,” Karung’o posted.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains it is engaging the Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh, even as Kenyans online demand accountability and transparency over the detention.
