About a year ago, her comments on sending money to extended family sparked controversy among netizens in a now-deleted TikTok rant.
“Sending money back home or to your extended family is such a common African practice that I absolutely hate. I saw my dad doing it, and I don’t even know any of my extended family,” she stated.
Further, she implied that while some people work hard and struggle financially, others might rely excessively on the support of relatives abroad.

“As long as you have a job, they expect you to share that money accordingly. And that is just something I will not be participating in yet. I already knew I would never participate in this. Like, how do you come and tell me? Oh, my kids are starving. You’re lazy. Get a job and feed your kids,” she stated in the TikTok rant.
In the video, she said her father had supported members of the extended family for years, and now they were looking to her for help. She turned her anger on one particular unnamed relative.
“There’s this one extended family member of ours who used to ask my dad for money, and she texted me and asked me for money. You’ve been asking my dad for money since before I was born. Now, you’re asking me for money. I’m not feeding your habits. “You’re too lazy to be alive,” she said.
