Diana Marua marks Majesty’s sixth birthday with getaway and heartfelt revelations

Socialite Diana Marua chose a heartfelt and unique way to celebrate her son Majesty Bahati’s sixth birthday, treating the entire family to a retreat at a lodge surrounded by wildlife, where they spent the day eating, talking, and sleeping together under one roof.

In a video shared on her YouTube channel on Friday, August 22, 2025, Diana was seen alongside her children and her husband, Bahati, savouring the serene getaway as they reflected on various developments in their lives.

During that time, Diana opened up to her children about the challenges of her past.

In a touching moment, she reminded them of the stark contrast between her childhood and the comfortable life they now enjoy.

“Unlike you kids, I used to fetch water in a well with a mtungi, and then I put it on my back. A jerrycan, if you do not understand what ‘mtungi’ means. And then I would go to wash utensils, and I would put water in a basin and clean in the other, and it was hard. So, guys, we are enjoying ourselves here in this lodge,” she said.

The birthday retreat continued with fun-filled adventures as Diana and Bahati took the children to explore a nearby lake within the lodge.

The family marvelled at the calm waters and the breathtaking scenery before embarking on a short walk to spot wild animals. The children were excited to see horses, zebras, and various bird species that made the experience both educational and memorable.

At one point, Bahati and their eldest son, Morgan, found themselves in a playful clash over the name of a bird they had spotted. While Morgan insisted it was a rare African bird, Bhati confidently argued that it was an ostrich. The light-hearted exchange drew laughter from the rest of the family, adding to the joyful mood of the retreat.

As the day wound down, the family gathered again for meals and reflections. Diana emphasised the importance of gratitude, reminding her children to appreciate the opportunities they have.

She also expressed her hope that the lessons she shared about her childhood would help them understand resilience and humility, even as they continue to grow in privilege.

“We are having fun here at the lodge. It is actually our first time being in such a place together as a family, and I want you to know that this is not something to take for granted. When I was your age, life was very different. I had to work so hard, even as a child. That is why I always remind you to be grateful for what you have, because these experiences are blessings, and I hope you grow up understanding humility and resilience even as you continue enjoying this life,” she said.
