Diamond says he married Zuchu without informing his mother
By Valerian Khakayi, August 7, 2025Tanzanian music sensation Naseeb Abdul Juma, widely known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz, has yet again opened up about his secret Islamic marriage (nikah) to fellow Bongo Flava star Zuhura Othman, alias Zuchu.
Speaking on a podcast interview on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Diamond disclosed that he decided to marry Zuchu without even informing his mother.
He said that it was only after the nikah was finalised that he called her to let her know he had gotten married.
According to him, the nikah was unplanned, explaining that his religion permits the swift officiation of romantic relationships.
“I do not think like you plan those things, it just happened. For me and my religion, it does not need to complicate it. My wife and I went to the sheikh, got married, and then I called my mum and told her I got married, and she said ‘What?'” he revealed.

The self-proclaimed Simba, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, announced that he was off the market by sharing photos of himself with Zuchu in Islamic traditional wedding attire on his official Instagram account, accompanied by a long cryptic message.
In his post, the Bongo Flava sensation spoke about the maturity of staying silent even when people speak falsely about you.
“One of the things I’ve learned is the maturity of remaining silent… This maturity requires a high level of patience. It demands you to have endurance, especially when someone or people falsely accuse you in public, while you know the truth but choose to stay quiet,” he wrote.
“It is not easy, but the rewards are great because your battles are fought by God, and you end up winning every time.
In addition, the Wasafi boss said that he knew everyone had a different image of him and marriage, but that he wanted to reveal that he had been married before—and that one day he would explain what had happened.
“I know everyone has a different picture of Diamond Platnumz and marriage. But today, I want to tell you that Diamond Platnumz has been married before… And someday I’ll explain what happened,” he stated.
Apart from Diamond, Zuchu, in a video circulating online, is seen recording herself in a car with Diamond, joyfully saying, “My husband, we are married,” while Diamond laughs in the background.
Diamond’s mother, Mama Dangote, also confirmed the wedding on her Instagram, congratulating the couple.
“Alhamdulillah, it went well. Congratulations, my son Naseeb and your wife Zuhura,” she wrote.
