The artiste concluded his post with warm wishes for her success in the polls, saying he believed her leadership would deliver even more development for the country.
But instead of applause, Diamond’s message drew a wave of outrage from Tanzanians who accused him of being tone-deaf to the current political climate.
Many citizens have in recent weeks taken to social media to condemn what they describe as President Suluhu’s growing intolerance toward opposition voices and critics of her administration.
The first day of voting was marred by tension and protests across several regions, with angry groups urging others to boycott the election in defiance of what they called an unfair process.

Some of the furious followers went as far as threatening to boycott his music and destroy his Wasafi Studios if he continued supporting the President.
“You have chosen the side of power instead of the people,” one user wrote, while others accused him of using his fame to sanitise poor governance.

By Thursday night, the mounting outrage had forced Diamond to act.
All posts, photos, and videos showing support for President Suluhu had vanished from his page, leaving fans and observers with little doubt that the star had bowed to the storm.
