Dan Sonko expresses hope that his late wife and Bwire have reunited

In a deeply emotional tribute, Kenyan actor Dan Sonko has shared his heartfelt reflections on the passing of his late wife, Druscillah Walowe Mngoda, also known as Dru, and his former partner, actress Winfred Bwire Ndubi.

Through poignant messages and shared memories, Sonko offers a glimpse into his journey of grief, healing, and enduring love.

In a video he shared on his official TikTok account, Dan said that he hoped by now that Dru and Bwire had reunited and that together they were all throwing it down.

The actor further stated that he had so much he wanted to talk about and so much he wanted to share. He mentioned that Bwire would be proud of the person he had become, adding that time truly did heal and also reveal.

Additionally, Sonko added that he was holding it down well where he was and that he would have loads to share when he saw Dru and Bwire again.

“My Dear human, there is so much I want to talk to you about, so much I want to share. You would be proud of the person I am today. Time truly does heal and also reveal,” he stated.

“I hope by now Dru has shown you around and together you all are throwing it down, I am holding it down well here and will have loads to share when I see you all again. Cheers to the ones have.”

Celebrating memories

Sonko has been open about his grieving process, often sharing memories and tributes to honour the lives of Dru and Bwire.

Dru’s death

Dru passed away on May 23, 2017. She died due to complications that arose shortly after giving birth to their second child.

She is remembered for her vibrant personality and infectious laughter, and she left behind two sons, Djibril and Darell.

Bwire’s death

Bwire passed away on September 5, 2024, while undergoing cancer treatment in Turkey. She had been battling the disease for some time and had appealed for financial assistance shortly before her death.

“It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce Winfred Bwire Ndubi lost her battle to cancer on September 5, 2024, while undergoing treatment in Turkey,” the family announced.

“We thank you all for your overwhelming support, prayers, and generous giving during her treatment. We will share more details in due course. God bless you all, Winfred Bwire Ndubi’s family.”
