Brendah Jons announces social media break to reconnect with God

On her official Instagram account, the born‑again Christian announced she would begin a social media hiatus starting Friday, August 1, 2025.
She explained that taking a break is one key way to remain effective in ministry, as it helps her to strengthen the spiritual discipline the Lord has been teaching her over the past few years.
Additionally, Jons said that even though she posted frequently, she did not actually like social media, as it felt noisy and distracting, including WhatsApp.
She added that for that reason, she consciously took healthy breaks from the online space every now and then, to avoid overconsumption and to be quiet with the Lord.
“One of the ways to be effective, especially in ministry, is remembering to strengthen your secret place. The Lord has taught me that for the past few years. I know I post a lot but I really don’t like the social media space,it feels noisy and distracting this includes WhatsApp,” she announced.
“That’s why every now and then I take healthy breaks to avoid overconsumption and to be quiet with the Lord.”
The content creator went on to say that the Lord had called her to a season of quietness for a while and added that she would return before they knew it.
So the Lord has called me to quietness for a while. I’ll be back before you know it. I love you, God loves you, and I’m praying for you. God bless you friend,” Jons said.
Social media break
This is not the first time she has taken a break from social media. In 2024, Brendah took a three-month break, citing spiritual renewal as the reason why she took a social media detox.
“Fasting social media, I took 3 months away to just soak and hear God more clearly. It’s been the best vacation ever!!!!” Brendah Jons said.
Born again
On September 29,2022, Brendah disclosed that she first gave her life to Christ while she was 13 years old.
She, however, noted that she was not sure of what it meant but she did the same 8 years later when a pastor made an alter call in church.
“13 years ago, I first gave my life to Christ. I didn’t know what it really meant to be born again, but I remember saying the words, ‘my life will never be the same again’,” Brendah said.
She added; “8 years later, a pastor did an altar call, and this time I knew exactly what it meant. It meant I had to lay everything down and serve God in truth and in spirit.I knew it was what I was made to do and so I walked to the altar and officially gave my life to Christ and immediately started serving Him.”
