Content creator Kennedy Matiko Rioba alias Babushka has raised funds to construct a bridge in Garage, Kasarani, Nairobi County.
Through his Insta Stories, Babushka shared updates on the progress of the bridge construction, showing the transformation from a perilous crossing point with car tyres.
The one-minute video captured workers engaged in the construction process as Babushka himself was seen actively participating in the construction efforts.
“Tupo site. Hopefully, we going to have a bridge here. Thank you all who have made it happen,” Babushka captioned the video.
Just two days prior, Babushka took to social media to rally support for the bridge construction noting the hazardous conditions faced by both himself and local children who traverse the area regularly.
“This is the place I pass daily to go and play football in the field thou risky!😭🥲 how abt children who pass here and go to school?. Kenyans kindly let’s unite and build here a bridge ata kama ni ya mbao! Anyone willing to be part of @babushka.Foundation support us through till no. 9091027 god any amount will be highly appreciated ata 5 bob . God bless you all,” Babushka’s appeal read.
Eric Omondi builds bridge
Just recently, Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi helped build a dangerous bridge in a village in Kisii County that gained attention after a video surfaced showing a small girl, Shirleen Kemunto bravely crossing over it.
Taking to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans, Eric Omondi posted a video showcasing himself and the young girl walking over the newly upgraded bridge.
“Kemunto bridge is complete. This young girl has changed a whole community. She is a hero. This bridge is not only historical but also extremely symbolic. It symbolizes a people’s resolve, it symbolizes the power in unity!”
