Kenya’s top celebrities turn up for Jahmby’s burial

Thousands of reggae fans, top celebrities and public figures have turned up to celebrate the life of the late media personality Njambi Koikai popularly known as Jahmby who will be lied to rest on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Langata cemetery.

The event is being streamed live by the Azimio coalition from Langata cemetery with media personalities Bernard Ndong’ a former colleague of Jahmby and radio host Mbusi Deh being the Mcees.

Present at the emotional event is nominated Senator Gloria Orwaba who revealed that the office of the First Lady has started to work on putting an endometriosis Centre in memory of Jahmby.

“Today I stand before you very sad, first to the family of Jahmby I was to pass a message from the First Lady who has been trying to intervene with mahali angeweza who I hope we will be working with her office to implement Jahmby’s legacy of having an endometriosis centre I pass her condolences,” she said.

Jahmby’s death.

Fyah Mummah has been vocal and created awareness about endometriosis took her last breath on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, while receiving endometriosis treatment which she has been battling for years at a Nairobi Hospital.

Before her sudden death, Jahmby through her official Instagram page disclosed that she had been admitted to the hospital and needed urgent blood donation.

Her body left Lee’s funeral home and she will be laid to rest at Langata Cemetry.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a gynaecological condition associated with menstruation where tissue similar to the lining of the womb develops in other areas of the body, including the fallopian tubes, pelvis, bowel, vagina and intestines.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), endometriosis can start at a woman’s first menstrual period and last until menopause.
