Police release name of Kenyan aiding Al Shabaab militants in North Eastern

Police have released the name of a local terrorist who is assisting Al Shabaab militants to traverse the vast North Eastern region.

In an intelligent report seen by K24 Digital, police revealed that Abdifatah Musa Yarrow is the man who is working in cohorts with the militants.

He also trained with the fighters in Somalia for months before he was given a go ahead to be their point man in the region.

“A team of seven Al Shabaab militants led by Yarrow are moving along Mansa, Sheikh Barrow and Abdow Gabow in the last three days their aim remains unknown,” the intel report reads in part.

It further reveals that Yarrow hails from Sheikh Barrow location and since he was a local their was need of officers in the region to be on high alert.

K24 Digital has established that Yarrow’s father was in August abducted by unknown people.
On the same night when Yarrow’s father was abducted the chief of Fino location who was on transit in Lafey was also abducted.

Meanwhile, unknown gunmen on Tuesday killed a man identified as Halakhe Waqo alias Councilor Matta.

The incident happened on the eve of International Day of Peace in Karare Ward in Marsabit County.

He was the Chairman of Borana Peace and Reconciliation Committee which was constituted in the recent past in order to find a lasting and peaceful solution to ethnic conflicts that have hit Marsabit for years now.

Locals termed his death as a big blow to the peace process not only in Saku Constituency where he closely worked with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.

On Monday, a motorbike rider from Borana community was also killed in Qilta Babala in Badhasa area of Sangate located in Jaldesa ward.

More details about the killings are yet to be made public but police officers are investigating the matter.
