A police officer accused of defiling his 16-year-old sister-in-law is being held at Kayole Police Station.

Sergeant David Kaperio, who is attached to the same station where he is being held, is accused of defiling his underage in-law on Friday morning around 1000hrs while she was washing dishes at his residence in Matopeni Area.

“Her in-law namely David Kaperio entered the house, got hold of her, pulled her and dragged her into the sitting room where he forcefully removed her clothes and defiled her. He then walked out leaving her sobbing in pain,” reads in part the police report.

The victim is said to have informed her sister of the horrific ordeal through a text message forcing her to rush to her rescue.

She, together with the victim, marched to Kayole Police Station where they filed the report.

The victim was later rushed to the hospital where it was ascertained that she had been defiled.

“It was then established that the assailant is No. 223611 Sgt David Kaperio who is attached to Kayole Police Station performing general duties. She was taken to Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital where she was treated and discharged. The preliminary medical report indicated that she had been defiled,” the OB report adds.

The suspect has been arrested and is being held pending arraignment for the offence of defilement.
