Nandi elders have blasted some unspecified government leaders accusing them of sponsoring youth who blocked Kanu chairman, Gideon Moi, from a function they had organised.
The elders said they had organized a ceremony to celebrate New Year with the Baringo Senator but rowdy youth barricaded the road and turned away Moi.
The elders claimed that those who disrupted their ceremony used local chiefs and ward representatives in a bid to embarrass Senator Moi.
They warned such incidences can easily escalate into violent confrontations and urged the national government to intervene to ensure people conduct their affairs peacefully.
The Talai elders said they will plan another meeting and still invite Moi as their guest.
