Jubilee leaders who were ejected from Senate leadership roles on Monday have protested the move saying it was not procedural.

In a letter to the Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, ousted Majority Whip, Susan Kihika, claimed that 22 senators did not receive official invitation for the Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting for senators.

Further, Senator Kihika said that no vote was carried out as required by Standing Order 19 for removal of Majority Leader and the Majority Whip.

“We held consultative meetings and would like to inform the Speaker that the requirements of the Standing ORder 19 that makes it mandatory for more than a half of the senators to remove a Majority Leader or Whip was not met,” said the Nakuru senator.

At the State House, Nairobi meeting on Monday, Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Susan Kihika were ousted from their leadership roles and replaced by Samuel Poghisio and Irungu Kang’ata respectively.
