Morara Kebaso issues detailed financial accountability report

Political activist Morara Kebaso has released a financial accountability report, providing detailed guidelines for Kenyans on how to audit the expenditures of his Inject party.

Morara, who depends on donations from Kenyans on social media to traverse the country to keep President William Ruto’s administration in check, disclosed that a joint bank account with three signatories that they opened is available for audit monthly.

In a statement via his official X account, Morara, on Friday, November 22, 2024, stated that the audit report would be availed to anyone who visits the party’s finance office.

“A joint bank account of three signatories has been opened. The account is available for audit monthly and the report shall be availed to anyone who visits the finance office. You can send a message to our treasury team at [email protected],” Morara said.

Breaking down how the party has been managing its financial expenses, the vocal political activist disclosed that a team of 14 members some based in Kenya while others in the diaspora have been in charge of budget preparations.

Outlining more roles of his 14-member team, he added that the technical team is also in charge of formulating political strategies and communication objectives.

“We have formed a 14-member technical team where 7 members are based in Kenya and 7 members are based in different countries in the Diaspora. The team has been running for close to two months now. It was formed on 4th October. The team prepares a budget, mobilizes resources and oversees the implementation of finances. The team also formulates political strategies and communication objectives,” he stated.

He went further to say that the Inject party financial management has been categorized into two, recurrent expenditures such as security, internet and electricity and special which include, vampire diaries, and civic education among others adding that all expenditures under the special program are audited periodically.

“We have categorized our financial management into two: recurrent expenditure and special programs. Security, cleaning, internet, electricity etc is recurrent expenditure. Vampire diaries, Civic Education Mashinani, Vijana na ID, and Warembo na INJECT are special programs. All special programs have periodic budgets and shall be audited periodically.

“All this information will be made available on the website which we are developing. We apologize for the delay, our developers are still working on the functionalities. The website has also delayed our e-commerce merchandise sale sites but by the end of next week, we should be ready to go,” he noted.

In addition, Morara assured his supporters that the party constitution would be published on social media once it’s finalized.

“The constitution of the party is almost ready and will be published on social media for your input,” he added.
