Bishop Ben Kiengei of JCM church is over the moon after Reggae legend Glenroy Washington and his wife Jackie Whyte who is also his manager attended his church.

During the church service on Sunday, October 6, 2024, joyful Kiengei disclosed to his congregation that the reggae superstars were in attendance after honouring his invitation.

He went on to say that he appreciated him for attending the service adding that the reason for inviting the reggae legend to attend his church was because he loves his songs which are spiritual especially ‘carry the name of Jesus’ which he terms as powerful and also because Glen told him that he sings for Jesus.

“Now ladies and gentlemen the time for reggae has come let us appreciate Glen for joining our church this is a great moment he told me he sings for Jesus and I respect that so much,” Kiengei disclosed.

“The reason why I invited him is that I love his song that says ‘Carry the name of Jesus’ that song is very powerful.”

Justifying his invite, Kiengei went on to say that he is aware some of his critics will question Glen’s presence in his church adding that one thing many people are not aware of is that reggae is spiritual and it aligns with the teachings of the church.

“Glen you know in Kenya church is a very difficult institution I know some people will start saying why did they bring him there and he sings reggae but there is one thing you told me, that reggae is spiritual,” he added.

Glen performed his songs for the congregants at JCM Church in Ruiru.
