Ministry of Labour announces auction of motor vehicles

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has announced the auction of unserviceable motor vehicles.

“The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs is in the process of disposing of its unserviceable motor vehicles,” a statement from the ministry read.

The Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs now invited sealed bids from eligible bidders for the purchase of motor vehicles as indicated in their tender documents.

According to the statement seen by K24 Digital, bidding will be conducted through National Competitive Bidding (NCB) according to Regulation 183 (1-2) of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Regulations, 2020, and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the procurement regulations.

Interested bidders

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, Office of the Principal Secretary, email [email protected].

Also, the bidders could make their way to the procurement office located on the 14th floor of the NSSF Building, Block A, Eastern wing, office No. LA 14-08 to inspect the bidding documents during office hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

The bidding documents in the English language will be obtained by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ksh1,000, in cash at the cash office located at NSSF building Eastern wing 2nd floor.

The document will be picked up from the procurement office and can be returned through mail, courier or hand delivery.

Unserviceable vehicles

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before June 24, 2024, at 11 am and dropped in the tender box located at the entry of procurement offices 14th floor marked State Department for Social Protection – Tender Box.

According to the Ministry, electronic bidding will not be permitted and late Bids will be rejected.

Similarly, all bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend on June 24, 2024, at 11 am.

This comes just weeks after the State House announced a public auction of unserviceable vehicles in May 2024.

“The prospective bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Sh 50,000 payable in the form of cash at the cash office Executive Office of The President,” a statement from the State House Comptroller noted then.
