The 2022 running mate for the Roots Party presidential candidate Justina Wamae has slammed Reverend Teresia Wairimu’s comments which came during her summon on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

In a statement on Monday, October 21, 2024, Wamae, who ran on a joint ticket with George Wajackoya, dismissed Wairimu’s stand that the 2022 elections were an act of divine intervention.

“To the church in Kenya today, truth be told, “God did not speak in 2022, the brown envelope did,” Wamae said.

Intercessor

This comes after Wairimu, who has been one of the intercessors at the State House unleashed criticism against the State following the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday, October 17, 2024, and the ratification by Parliament of his potential successor- Kithure Kindiki.

“I have always been thinking that this government is a government of God because it is the one we voted for. To our embarrassment, it is a government of fights instead of majoring on the things that concern us as the economy of the nation, how we can build ourselves and better health systems,” Wairimu stated.

“As a voter I am embarrassed and in the next election, you must convince me. We are sick and tired of having noice. We want performers. Don’t arm yourself like you are going to war, arm yourself to serve the nation of Kenya and the people who voted for you,” Wairimu remarked.

Wairimu said the church was embarrassed by the Kenya Kwanza government’s latest actions, stating that the economy was in bad shape and that businesses were struggling.

“It does not matter who is corrupt, we uproot them from their seats and send them home. We refuse confusion and fights. We have not seen them asking for a prayer,” Wairimu noted.

The reverend was among those who received the Head of State Commendations (HSC) recognition by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017. Other recipients during the 54th Jamhuri Day celebrations on December 12, 2024, were Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, Martin Kamotho alias Githeri Man and musician Ben Githae, among others.

Finance bill 2024

Additionally, Wairimu was among the evangelists who shied away from taking a public stand on the controversial Finance Bill when others like Pastor Robert Burale, Apostle James Ng’ang’a, Bishop Pius Muiru and Reverend Lucy Natasha openly opposed the tax proposals.

During her Sunday sermon, Wanjiru stated that her trust in politicians had gone and that the electorate must be prepared to uproot and send home the current leadership.
