Uhuru makes grand arrival at Ngong Racecourse for Jubilee Party NDC
By David Nthua, September 26, 2025Former President and Jubilee Party Leader His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, flanked by top party officials, arrived at the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi on Friday, September 26, 2025.
The former Head of State is expected to chart the Jubilee Party’s future ahead of the 2027 general election.
Uhuru was also accompanied by former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, both occupying the front seats during the event that had officially kicked off.
Sheikh Juma Ngao’s Prayer Moves Delegates
Opening the event through prayers, Sheikh Juma Ngao struck an emotional chord with his words, which many delegates interpreted as a subtle attack on the current government. His choice of phrases drew murmurs of agreement and visible reactions across the gathering.
“Twafa na njaa. Hatuna kazi, tu wagonjwa, twaishi na fuliza. Twauliwa.

“Tumechoka na mauwaji Allah. Tuondolee utawala huu udhalimu unaongozwa na mafisi wawili wasiokuwa na haja na Wakenya,” Sheikh Ngao prayed, his voice rising as the audience listened intently.
He continued with a plea for peace, saying, “Mwenyezi Mungu leta amani hapa Kenya na kila mahali. Mwenyezi Mungu twakuomba umbariki ndugu yetu Matiang’i na awe rafiki wa Kenya na umsafishe moyo wake. Kila ila Mwenyezi Mungu ukafishide.”
A Blessing for Uhuru Kenyatta
In the same prayer, Sheikh Ngao made a heartfelt appeal on behalf of the former President, asking the crowd to join in blessing him and his family.
“Tunamwombea Rais wetu Uhuru Kenyatta. Bariki Uhuru Kenyatta na familia yake na ujalia familia yake na Wakenya kumskiza maana alitwambia na hatukumskiza,” he said.
His words, both critical and conciliatory, left a deep impression on the delegates, setting the tone for the political discussions expected to dominate the day.
The Jubilee Party is expected to make radical changes during the event that will see it change its face ahead of the 2027 general election and, possibly, prevent a replica of what happened.
