TikTok sensation Fardosa has said she has no plans to go back to Kakuma in Turkana, even though she has children living there.

Speaking during an interview with one of the local TV stations on Friday, August 22, 2025, Fardosa openly admired the lifestyle in Nairobi compared to Turkana, where she said resources are limited and life is tougher.

The bubbly star, who has been making waves on TikTok with her raw honesty and unfiltered humour, said her decision to remain in Nairobi is final.

Her loyal fans who have been following her journey knew that she recently travelled to the capital for the first time, an adventure that excited many of her supporters.

Fardosa reveals love for Nairobi food

In her candid remarks, Fardosa explained that Nairobi offers her the kind of comfort she has always desired.

“Me sitarudi Kakuma, mimi nitakaa hapa Nairobi. Shangazi atakaa na watoto Kakuma. Hapa Nairobi nataka nikae kwa ajiri ya maziwa mara na nyama.

Pale Kakuma town tunaona TV ya town pekee,” she said, drawing laughter and support from her online followers.

She went on to reveal that her trip to Nairobi opened her eyes to a completely new world. “Hii ni mara yangu ya kwanza kupanda gari.

Numefurahia sana kukuja Nairobi. Nimeona vitu mingi lakini huku ni mbali sana, nimechoka!” she added, underscoring how new and overwhelming the experience has been for her.

Health and food preferences

Beyond lifestyle, Fardosa also linked her choice of settling in Nairobi to her health. She noted that certain foods commonly available in Kakuma had affected her.

“Sipendi ugali na kabichi, nikikula tumbo inauma. Daktari alisema nikule nyama na maziwa. Itanisaidia kuwa mnene,” she disclosed, reinforcing her preference for Nairobi, where access to a variety of food choices is easier.

Fardosa’s honesty and comedic tone have struck a chord with Kenyans online, making her one of the fastest-rising TikTok personalities this year.

Her fans have continued to cheer her on, with many encouraging her to chase her dreams in the city.

As she embraces her new life in Nairobi, Fardosa’s story shows how social media is changing lives and amplifying voices from even the most unlikely corners of the country.
