Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has told off Jubilee rebels to shape up or ship out if they are dissatisfied with the party leadership.

According to the governor, disgruntled National Assembly and Senate members who are fed with Jubilee’s leadership should resign and seek fresh mandate instead of rocking the party from within.

Speaking to the press after distributing food aid donated by the national government to residents of Kithiriti village at Kithiriku Primary School, the county boss insisted that members must toe the party line.

“Every party has its own way of disciplining disgruntled members. Jubilee Party can’t continue to entertain individuals who sole aim is to sabotage government operations in Parliament and Senate,” she said.

Governor Waiguru said that members who don’t show respect to President Uhuru Kenyatta will not be entertained in the party.

“You don’t see members of the Orange Democratic Movement, Maendeleo Chap Chap and Narc abusing their party leader in public,” said Ms Waiguru.

Ms Waiguru said she supports the ongoing purge to get rid of rebels from parliamentary leadership positions, noting that only MPs who share President Kenyatta’s vision can help him realize his Big Four agenda.

“I thank the President for cracking the whip…We can’t allow individuals with divided loyalty to be chairman of critical committees trusted to push President Agenda” she revealed.

On claims that some Senators were not given able time to prepare for the State House meeting, the governor advised those facing disciplinary process to stop politicking in the press.

Jubilee is expected to remove Senate Deputy Speaker Kithure Kindiki from his position this week for failing to attend the Parliamentary Group meeting convened by his party boss.

Meanwhile, the governor revealed that more families in Kirinyaga County face starvation and require urgent food aid.

She said that Covid-19 has seriously affected household incomes as many dependants have been rendered jobless.

Ms Waiguru was speaking while distributing rice to about 500 vulnerable families in the county.
