Salasya pledges Ksh200B youth jobs and resource mapping if elected president
By Mustafa Juma, August 1, 20252027 aspirant presidential hopeful and Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has unveiled a bold economic vision aimed at drastically reducing youth unemployment and unlocking Kenya’s untapped natural resource wealth.
In a statement shared via his official X account on Friday, August 1, 2025, at midnight, outlining his plans if elected to the presidency, Salasya pledged to allocate over Ksh200 billion toward youth employment and resource mapping initiatives across the country.
“In my government, over Ksh100 billion will be set aside to over-employ young people across national and county governments,” Salasya stated.
“Another Ksh100 billion will go into scanning, discovering, mapping, and monetising our natural resources.”
Stock exchange
The legislator noted that once these resources are identified, the government will list them on the stock exchange to attract global investors and raise capital for sustainable exploitation.
Salasya also pledged a massive industrialisation effort, saying his administration would build numerous factories to boost manufacturing and economic productivity.
“After which different and unique minerals will be put on the stock exchange market, attracting global investors. I will industrialise Kenya with very many factories—and yes, we will even import labour,” he stated.
Salasya dares Raila
This comes days after Salasya launched a scathing attack on ODM party leader Raila Odinga if he contests in the 2027 General Election.
In a fiery statement posted on his official X account on Friday, July 26, 2025, Salasya accused Raila and Edwin Sifuna of pretending to be in opposition while secretly working with the government.
He further claimed that Sifuna had been planted to kill the momentum of opposition politics.
“I will beat Raila on the ballot come 2027 ata afanye Sifuna running mate wake,” Salasya wrote.
The youthful MP dismissed Sifuna as untrustworthy, accusing him of serving both Raila and President William Ruto.
“Guys, I told you, don’t trust Sifuna on anything. He was sent to kill the momentum by Raila and Ruto. He is now the agent of conclave dialogue,” Salasya said.
He further stated that he had mastered the political tricks used by seasoned leaders like Raila and Sifuna.
“Peter Salasya has mastered all the tricks of pretenders like Raila and Sifuna. I read politics from afar. Raila will be on the ballot again to confuse Kenyans so that he enters into another handshake,” he added.
