He argues that during Wamalwa’s funeral, Raila took five bulls to Western by himself, and that the Luhya community should reciprocate the act.
“As the Luhya community, we hold deep respect for Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga not just as a political icon, but as a man of profound humanity and empathy. Despite his political differences with the late Vice President Michael Kijana Wamalwa, when Wamalwa passed on, Raila personally transported five mighty bulls from Bondo to Kitale in honour of his fallen brother. That single act spoke volumes about his character – a man who valued people above politics,” Salasya stated.
Man of the people
Salasya described Raila as “a man of profound humanity and empathy”, saying that even in fierce political battles, the ODM leader’s heart for the people always stood out.
“You could differ with the Enigma politically, but when it came to life and humanity, Baba stood unmatched – kind, compassionate, and deeply human,” he stated.
The MP went on to urge members of the Luhya nation to reciprocate Raila’s long-standing goodwill and brotherhood by honouring him with bulls, just as he once did for their son, the late Wamalwa.
“Rest in Eternal Peace, Jakom. As the Luhya nation, we shall honour you in our traditional way with bulls, as a mark of respect to a man who once carried them for one of our own,” he wrote on X.
