President William Ruto paused his speech for a few seconds during a public rally in Wote town.

This happened after one of the uniformed police officers was seen pushing members of the public, who had gathered to listen to the Head of State.

Ruto immediately addressed the situation, telling the officer to leave the citizens alone.

Wewe soldier wacha kufukuza wananchi bwana. Ruto told the officer.

The President used the moment to highlight government programmes that are benefiting locals in Makueni.

He spoke about the ongoing Affordable Housing project, explaining that the buildings have now reached ten floors and will soon be extended to fifteen.

Sasa imefikia ghorofa kumi na tutaipandisha ghorofa kumi na tano,” he said.

Ruto added that the new housing developments will create jobs for local youth.
