Ruto offers prayers, support to governor Wamatangi following sister’s death

President William Ruto has paid tribute to Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi following the loss of his sister Winnie Nyambura.

In a post shared on his official X account on Friday, September 5, 2025, the Head of State eulogized the late Nyambura, wishing the family and friends more strength as they bear with the loss.

“May the Lord grant Governor Kimani Wamatangi strength to bear with the loss of his dear sister, Winnie Nyambura. The family, friends, and the people of Kiambu are in our thoughts and prayers at this painful time. “Rest in peace, Winnie,” Ruto said.

Ruto’s message of condolences follows the announcement by the Kiambu Governor, Kimani Wamatangi, on Friday, September 5, 2025, where he described his love for her sister Winnie Penninah Nyambura.

Wamatangi mourns sister

Wamatangi, in a post on his official Facebook account, acknowledged that the family had accepted the outcome as they take comfort during the difficult moments of grief.

“Death is cruel. It takes from us the people we love and cherish, leaving a hurting void. But we have to accept the will of God because it’s in him; we take comfort during such times,” Wamatangi wrote.

The Kimabu Governor, while paying his tribute to his sibling, described his cherished moments with his sister.

“Rest in eternal peace, my sister, Winnie Peninah Nyambura. As a family, we cherish the times God allowed us to be together. Go well, Nyambura,” he added.

Ruto Mourns Kimani Ichungwa’s dad

On the other hand, President William Ruto has also led Kenyans in mourning the passing of Mzee Isaac Ngugi, the father of Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung’wah.

In a statement shared on his official social media channels on Friday, September 5, 2025, Ruto extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late patriarch.

He described him as an industrious and astute businessman who played a pivotal role in the development of Kikuyu Town.

“Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends for the passing of Mzee Isaac Ngugi, the father of Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah. He was an industrious and astute businessman and one of the brains that founded of Kikuyu Town,” Ruto wrote.

“Mzee touched many lives through his many transformative initiatives that supported the vulnerable. His legacy will live on. Rest In Peace, Mzee.”
