President William Ruto has melted hearts after he was captured carrying a baby while personally helping a police family settle into their newly allocated home at Embakasi.

The heartwarming gesture came during his inspection of the new National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus Housing project in Nairobi on Monday, December 1, 2025.

At the time, during his inspection of the new blocks, Ruto was seen engaging with families when he visited the homestead of a police officer whose family resides within the precinct.

The visit began with the president speaking to a young child outside the house before entering inside, and shortly after, he asked to be handed the baby, who appeared young.

Moments later, the family handed him a newborn wrapped snugly in a heavy, luminous green baby shawl, where he calmly rested in the president’s arms.

At the time, Ruto, visibly surprised by the infant’s size, estimated that the newborn was about a week old. To his surprise, the mother, a police officer who was dressed in full uniform, quickly informed him that the baby was three months old.

While surprised, Ruto reacted with a light moment of awe, remarking, “Anaonekana kamdogo sana.

Just after the house rapport, Ruto, while still cradling the baby together with the family, stepped outside the house with the father carrying the handbags while the mother held their other baby.

The family proceeded with President Ruto from their previous residence, an older housing structure, to a newly furnished unit.

“So you now have a new home! Ooh my goodness, very good!” Ruto said to them. Inside, he took a seat while still carrying the infant, with the family settling around him.

At the time, Ruto expressed his satisfaction at the progress of the housing initiative.

“I am very happy that this morning you are moving from a uni hut to a house,” Ruto told the family.
