Alai pleads with Kenyans to help him raise funds for his cousin’s funeral

By , September 10, 2025

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, invited Kenyans to help him cater to the funeral expenses of his late cousin, Robert Alai Rabari.

Through his Facebook page, Alai announced the passing of Rabari and pleaded with Kenyans to chip in during the difficult moment.

“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Alai Rabari on September 4th, 2025, a devoted brother, father, friend, and colleague.

“A fundraiser will be held today at All Saints Cathedral from 5:00 PM to help the family raise funds for funeral arrangements. Your presence, prayers, and contributions are deeply appreciated.” Alai posted.

Condolence towards Rabari

The emotional tribute quickly drew reactions from Kenyans, many expressing solidarity and sympathy for the vocal politician.

Social media platforms lit up with condolence messages, with several promising to stand with him and his family.

The tragedy comes at a time when Alai continues to balance his public service duties with personal struggles, highlighting the human side of leaders often known only for their political battles.

It also comes a day after he urged Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to regulate hawkers by introducing uniforms. Watch the video below:

His heartfelt plea has already gone viral, as Kenyans resonate deeply with the message of loss and the need for unity in tough times.

Robert Alai’s political persona

Robert Alai, known for his unapologetic and sometimes controversial voice in politics, has never shied away from defending or criticizing what he believes in.

This time, however, he steps into the public arena not as a fiery debater but as a grieving friend seeking comfort and support from fellow Kenyans.

To some Kenyans, Robert Alai is a bold leader who shoots directly from the hip.

Still, to others, he is a leader who blindly follows, defends, or even pays allegiance to something or someone without caring what they think about him.

The MCA has not once or twice clashed with Kenyans on social media, defending various political leaders, attacking others, and expressing opposition to Kenyans’ views on topics such as SHA, protests, and abductions, among others.
