A Nairobi memorial for Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old conservative activist who was killed two weeks ago, was marked by emotional songs, candlelight vigils, and tributes from attendees on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

The Nairobi event saw attendees donning white t-shirts emblazoned with Charlie Kirk’s photo at the centre and the words “We are all Charlie Kirk” printed above.

A larger photo of Kirk was displayed at the front of the venue, where candles were lit in his memory, and a huge banner featuring the same design as the t-shirts was prominently mounted for attendees to view.

A video shared by Larry Madowo on the same day captured attendees singing the hit gospel song ‘In Christ Alone’ by Adrienne Liesching word for word, holding lit candles and creating a solemn, reflective atmosphere.

The video showed attendees taking turns to move to the front, where flowers and Kirk’s photo were displayed, pausing in quiet reflection, bowing in his honour, and returning to their seats in silence.

The memorial in Nairobi came shortly after a large-scale service in Glendale, Arizona, organised by Turning Point USA (TPUSA), which Kirk co-founded at the age of 18.

The Arizona event, held at State Farm Stadium, attracted more than 100,000 attendees and featured speeches from President Donald Trump, Kirk’s widow Erika, who has assumed the role of TPUSA CEO, Vice President JD Vance, Donald Trump Jr, right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson, and White House homeland security adviser Stephen Miller.

The service was live-streamed on Charlie Kirk’s Rumble account and conducted under heightened security, including TSA-level screening.

Kirk was shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at a Utah university campus, an incident that reignited concerns about political violence in the United States. The suspected shooter,

Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged and remains in jail. Officials have linked him to a leftist ideology, and shell casings with anti-fascist slogans were reportedly found at the scene, although the exact motive remains unclear.

The Nairobi memorial mirrored the tone of the Arizona event with reverence and reflection, as attendees commemorated Kirk’s life and work. Each candle and song became a symbol of solidarity, and the pro-Kirk messages on t-shirts and banners reinforced the shared admiration for the activist.
