Murkomen meets TikToker who begged for Ksh100 to buy data during Raila’s body viewing
By Steve Ireri, October 24, 2025Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has held a meeting with TikToker Papa Lewisooh, who has been trending after a video of him shading the Cabinet Secretary’s attire during the viewing of Raila Odinga’s body at Kasarani went viral.
In a video shared on his TikTok page on Friday, October 24, 2025, Murkomen is seen ushering the outspoken TikToker into his office and showing him to a seat where they engage in a hearty conversation about various developments.
The TikToker appears elated to meet the Cabinet Secretary and takes time to explain that before their encounter at Kasarani, he had been among the hundreds of Kenyans who had gathered at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to receive the body of the late ODM leader.
“So, that day, where had you come from?” Murkomen asked him.
“So, we even greeted each other by hand when you came down at Kasarani. We had gone to the airport to receive the old man, and I was among the top three to reach where the plane was. But honourable, you played us a little, though it is fine. So, we later came and reached Kasarani. And if it were not for you, I do not know if people would have been there at Kasarani. God bless you for the good work. Also, that video where you were speaking, it is not even the real one, the editors are the ones who edited it,” the TikToker told him.
During the viewing of Raila’s body on October 16, 2025, commotion erupted after hundreds of mourners filled the stadium, forcing police officers to fire tear gas canisters to control the crowd and restore order for the viewing exercise.
It was at that chaotic moment that Murkomen descended from the VIP dais to calm down the situation.
In the middle of the confusion, he met Lewisooh, who boldly approached him, asking for one hundred shillings to buy data bundles, while cheekily criticising the Cabinet Secretary’s trousers for being too tight.
The video capturing that light-hearted moment has since gone viral across social media platforms, sparking widespread amusement and ultimately leading to the unusual but heart-warming meeting between the two.
Money Gift
Following the successful meeting, Murkomen decided to reward Lewisooh with some money, saying he was simply responding to his earlier request for one hundred shillings to buy data bundles.
The Cabinet Secretary asked for his number and promised to surprise him with more money.
“Your bundles now, you will give me your number. Since they are listening through the cameras, write it for me on my phone here. That is your official number, so I will send you the money now,” Murkomen said.
The Cabinet Secretary further took time to encourage the TikToker to remain focused and hardworking, expressing his best wishes for his future.
“Continue with your hustle so that your work can move forward. So, your real name is Zedekiah, but your stage name is Papa Lewisooh. Continue with that energy,” Murkomen said.
