Detectives from Mlolongo police station have placed in custody a murder suspect connected to the death of 35-year-old Faith Mueni from Kalama village in Machakos county.
Harrison Mutisya, husband to the deceased, who is the prime suspect of the cold blood murder tried to commit suicide last night at a Mlolongo lodging but he was rescued and rushed to Kitengela sub-county hospital unconscious.
Lodging attendants alerted the police of a man who was wailing in pain shortly after checking into the lodging and pesticide poison was discovered.
At the Kitengela sub-county hospital, the suspect who gained consciousness this afternoon found himself handcuffed and detectives beside his bed before being bundled into Machakos county’s detectives’ vehicle.
The deceased was found on March 25, 2022, by her in-laws in a pool of blood with deep panga cuts on her head and hands.
The matter was reported to the police who began pursuing the suspect.
He is currently held at Machakos police station as the officers commence further investigations.
