Detectives from Machakos are pursuing a 43-year-old man suspected to have killed his wife at their home in Kikumbo village, Kalama Sub-County.

Harrison Mutisya, an auditor by profession, reportedly killed his wife on the night of Friday, March 24 by inflicting deep cuts using a sharp object on her body.

DCI detectives from Machakos county say that Faith Mueni Mutinga, 35, and her husband did not show any sign of having a problem a couple of days before the incident happened. In fact, on the day of the incident, the couple shared a meal before they retired to bed.

The family of the two are said to have only become aware after Mutinda failed to come out of her house the day after the incident.

Mutinda’s failure to wake up prompted her parents-in-law to visit her house and found her body lying in a pool of blood on their matrimonial bed. At the time, Mutinda’s husband was missing.

“We found her lying on the bed, and when I opened the blanket that covered her, I noticed a lot of blood,” Richard Muiva, Mutinda’s father-in-law said.

Muiva further revealed that when they arrived at the couple’s home, they also found that their family vehicle was missing.

Following the incident, the father-in-law said he called the police who later rushed to their home and processed the scene of the crime before taking the body of the deceased to the mortuary.

While confirming the incident, Machakos Sub-county DCIO Simon Waithaka revealed that the deceased was killed as a result of deep cuts that were inflicted on her body.

“We have received a report on the murder of a lady. The report was made by area assistant chief Josephat Wambua,” Waithaka said.
