MP Nyamita says no one should think of ousting Ruto in 2027
By David Nthua, August 6, 2025Uriri Member of Parliament (MP) Mark Nyamita has some bad news for those thinking replacing President William Ruto in 2027 will be a walk in the park.
Speaking to one of the local TV stations on Wednesday, August 5, 2025, Nyamita said Ruto’s performance and the scale of ongoing development projects across the country make it extremely difficult to dislodge him from power.
Praise for Ruto’s development record
Nyamita said that while it is not impossible to remove an incumbent from any seat, whether the presidency, a governorship, or even a parliamentary position, it becomes nearly impossible if the officeholder is delivering results.
“It is not impossible to remove any incumbent, either in the presidency, governorship or even as an MP, but if they are working, it becomes an impossibility,” he stated.
He went on to commend Ruto for what he described as an unmatched work ethic.
“Ruto is even overworking. If you look in every part of the country, there are several ongoing projects,” Nyamita said, adding that visible development on the ground boosts public confidence in the President.

Echoing Mudavadi’s sentiments
The legislator also appeared to support remarks by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who had suggested that removing Ruto in the next general election would be highly unlikely.
“When the Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi says, and I think in the context of how I understand, ‘Let’s agree it is not possible to eject Ruto,” Nyamita explained.
Nyamita’s remarks come at a time when political temperatures are slowly building ahead of the 2027 polls, with opposition figures signalling their intention to mount a strong challenge. However, the MP insisted that as long as Ruto maintains his current pace of implementing projects nationwide, the political reality will heavily favour his re-election.
So far, Ruto’s office has not commented on Nyamita’s statements, but his allies have previously pointed to ongoing infrastructure, health, and education programmes as evidence of his commitment to delivering on campaign promises.
