Mosiria flaunts transformation of Jogoo Road man he rescued while living in a tree
By Steve Ireri, September 17, 2025Nairobi environment chief officer Geoffrey Mosiria has shared an inspiring update about a man he rescued from street life, who had been surviving atop a tree along Jogoo Road.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Mosiria noted that for the first time in ten years, the man has now spent two nights in a proper house, likening the milestone to a miraculous transformation.
“UTAAMINI HUYU JAMAA KANDO YANGU ALIKUWA STREET FAMILY (CHOKORAA)? Tree Man! This is a true transformation from being part of a street family and living on top of a tree along Jogoo Road to finally living like other human beings. For the first time in 10 years, he has now spent two nights in a proper house,” he wrote.

Mosiria shared a photo of the man dressed sharply in a suit, emphasising the contrast between his past and present life.
He then called on Kenyans to step forward and assist others who are struggling, pointing out that the majority of people living in hardship are victims of poverty.
He stressed that even small contributions, or simply a compassionate heart, can help transform someone’s life.
“I call upon Kenyans to step forward and help others who are suffering, most of whom are struggling due to poverty,” he wrote.
He added that changing a life does not necessarily require money, but rather willingness and empathy, encouraging Kenyans to take action wherever they can.
“The little that God has blessed you with can transform someone’s life. Changing a life does not necessarily require money; it only requires a willing and compassionate heart,” he concluded.

Earlier intervention
Earlier on September 13, 2025, Mosiria revealed that he had purchased a mkokoteni to help the man earn a living by collecting recyclables and keeping the environment clean.
He also pledged to assist in registering a Community-Based Organisation (CBO) together with the man’s friends to ensure they build a sustainable income stream.
“As promised, today I returned to visit our friend, the landlord of the ‘Avoidable House’ along Jogoo Road, to support him in finding a better path in life, just as many of you had encouraged me to do,” Mosiria stated.
Beyond business support, Mosiria revealed that he had secured a better house for the man within the Jogoo Road area and paid three months’ rent in advance.
“I will continue walking with him on this new journey until he becomes fully stable and independent,” Mosiria added.
