Moses Kuria discloses resignation letter to the public
By Arnold Ngure, July 14, 2025Former senior advisor in the Council of Economic Advisors, Moses Kuria, has disclosed his letter of resignation from President William Ruto’s government.
In a post on Monday, July 14, 2025, Kuria displayed the letter addressed to the head of public service, Felix Koskei, concerning his wanting out.
“I am writing to formally resign from my position as Senior Advisor at the President’s Council of Economic Advisors effective 8th July 2025,” the resignation letter reads.
Rewarding position
“I sincerely appreciate your leadership and the support working as a Cabinet Secretary and later Senior Advisor under the Kenya Kwanza Government. It has been incredibly rewarding working in the implementation of the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity.”

“I remain committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless transition. Thank you once again for the opportunity to be a part of your administration,” Kuria said in the letter.
This comes just days after Kuria resigned from his position, a matter which sparked widespread speculation on what his next move would be.
Accepted resignation
In a post shared on his verified X account on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Kuria revealed that he had personally met with President Ruto and that the head of state had graciously accepted his decision to step down.
“This evening I have met my boss and my friend, President William Ruto. The president has graciously accepted my decision to resign from government,” Kuria stated.

Kuria, who previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry for 11 months before being moved to the docket of Public Service, Delivery, and Performance Management for another 9 months, said he was proud of his contribution to the administration’s signature economic blueprint.
“I thank President Ruto for having given me an opportunity to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry for 11 months; Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management for 9 months; and Senior Economic Advisor for the last 10 months,” he said.
Kuria revealed that as he prepares to pursue personal interests, he remains proud of the legacy he leaves behind, particularly in helping develop the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the policy on which President Ruto campaigned in 2022.
