A 50-year-old man from Sisokhe Village in Navakholo, Kakamega County was lynched early Tuesday after he allegedly killed a university student whom he had wrangled with at a nightclub late Tuesday.

The body of Adrian Atako, a Third-Year Bachelor of Engineering student at Kenyatta University (KU), was found dumped in a sugarcane plantation. The body had bruises.

Area chief, Josephat Makete, told K24 Digital that Atako had gotten into a conflict with Julius Makokha on Monday night at a local nightspot.

Following the dispute, Makokha is alleged to have vowed to deal with Atako.

Later Monday night, Atako’s body was found dumped in a nearby sugarcane plantation, with locals suspecting that Makokha was behind the student’s death.

On Tuesday morning, angry neighbours stormed Makokha’s house and lynched him.

The bodies of Makokha and Atako were taken to Kakamega County Referral Hospital morgue.
